Formalin is a water-based solution of formaldehyde gas, typically containing about 37-40% formaldehyde by weight, along with a small amount of stabilizer like methanol to prevent polymerization.
Uses:
It is widely used as a disinfectant, preservative, and in the production of resins like urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde. Formalin is also employed in medical and biological fields for preserving tissue specimens due to its ability to inactivate bacteria and fungi.
Application Method:
It is used in production of aminoplast resins such as urea formaldehyde adhesives, UF and MUF impregnation resins. It is used as anti-caking agent in the process of urea production. As an antiseptic in hospitals, cattle breeding centers, contaminated public places, sugar industries and sanitary detergents.
Packaging, handling and transportation:
20-liter HDPE plastic drums, 20 – 22 MT stainless steel tanks and ISO tank containers.
